A substantial quantity of saved sent text messages can slow the messaging speed of your Nokia Surge down. In the interest of good phone performance, many users don't want or need to be able to save months worth of sent text messages. Changing the options for saved sent text messages is a fast and efficient way to ensure that your cellular phone's messaging function runs at its optimal level.
Instructions
1. Navigate to the phone's text messaging menu.
2. Push the "Options" button.
3. Scroll to "Settings" and select it.
4. Scroll to "Other" and select it. The first option in this menu is "Save Sent Messages." If you do wish to save any sent text messages, then select "Change" and the preference will go from "Yes" to "No." The cell phone will no longer store your sent text messages.
5. Scroll to "Number of Saved Messages" and select "Change". Type in the amount of saved messages you want the cell phone to store. Once the phone reaches this limit, it will not save any more. Remember that you will have to go in to manually delete these messages if you choose this option.
6. Push the "Exit" button when you are done making your changes.
