Fix A Sim Card Insert On The Nokia 5310

The Nokia 5310 Music Xpress mobile phone uses GSM technology to connect to your carrier's wireless network. Because of this, the phone uses a SIM card. The SIM card is a small white chip that lets you connect to the network. It houses your mobile number and all of your customer information. Without it, you cannot make any calls other than emergency calls. Sometimes the Nokia does not recognize the SIM card and you receive a SIM card Insert error. This can be fixed in a few short steps.

Instructions

1. Remove the back cover of the phone by sliding it away from the camera lens.

2. Pull the battery out of the phone by sticking your thumbnail between the back of the phone and the battery. Removing the battery releases the latch that keeps the SIM card latched into the holder.

3. Slide the SIM card out of the SIM card holder. Wipe off the gold contacts on the bottom of the SIM card with a clean dry towel.

4. Slide the SIM card back into the SIM card holder with the gold contacts facing down and the notch in the SIM's corner in the bottom right corner.

5. Place the battery back into the phone. Turn the phone on by pressing on the power button on the top left of the phone. Wait for the phone to boot up to see if the SIM error is gone.

6. Place the back cover onto the phone and slide it toward the camera lens to lock it in place.
