Remove A Virus From The Nokia 6300

Aside from its sleek candy bar design, the Nokia 6300 also features an LCD display, FM radio, Bluetooth technology, EDGE packet data and has both POP3 and IMAP4 capabilities. However, the Symbian platform found on many of Nokia's phones, including the Nokia 6300, can be vulnerable to viruses. The phone can contract a virus either through the transfer or receiving of data via Bluetooth, or by installing software applications from untrusted sources. Fortunately these viruses are removable in a number of ways, including with a PC or with your phone's built-in browser.

Instructions

1. Remove the memory card from the mobile phone.

2. Tap *#7370# on the phone. When prompted by the phone to "Restore all original settings?" confirm "Yes" by pressing on the left-soft key. You may have to enter the security code of the phone before the restore process begins. The default code is 12345.

3. Press "OK" after entering the security code for the restore process to begin. The phone will restart to begin the formatting process.

4. To clean a virus using your computer, connect the card reader to the computer. Insert your memory card into the card reader and format it.

5. Remove the memory card from card reader and slot the virus-free memory card into the phone to complete the process.
