Format Micro Sd Cards For Phones

Format your phone SD card on your PC.

Micro SD cards add memory storage capability to the phone. The phone's operating system usually has a built-in utility to format this card. Typically this built-in utility is located in the phone's settings or options. Your phone's user guide will contain specific instructions. The universal way to format a Micro SD card is to simply remove it from the phone and plug it into your PC using a compatible media card reader. Once your PC "sees" the card, you can manage data on the card, including formatting the card, just like you can with a hard drive on your PC.

Instructions

1. Remove the Micro SD card from your phone and insert it into the card media reader for your PC.

2. Open your PC file management application, Windows Explorer for Windows systems, and locate the Micro SD card in the directory tree.

3. Select the micro SD card and format it just as you would a hard drive, CD or DVD. In Windows systems, right-click on the Micro SD card name and choose "Format."

4. Remove your freshly formatted Micro SD card from your PC and reinsert it into your phone.
