Unlock A Phone Pin

Use your phone's keypad to type the default PIN code.

Your mobile phone has several different security options, all designed to protect it from unauthorized use, should it become lost or stolen. Enabling a PIN code will require entering the four- to eight-digit PIN each time your phone is powered on, or goes into standby mode (for certain devices). If you have forgotten your PIN and inadvertently locked your phone, a good place to start is by entering the factory default code.

Instructions

1. Type the default PIN on your phone's "Enter PIN" screen. Your carrier determines this number, but it is usually "1-1-1-1" or "1-2-3-4." Press "OK" to confirm. If the code is not accepted, continue to Step two.

2. Type the default PIN two additional times, until an "Enter PUK" message is displayed.

3. Contact your wireless provider to obtain the PUK (PIN Unlock Key). You will need to verify your account details, such as accountholder name and account password, before the code is released to you.

4. Type the PUK code. Press "OK." You will then be prompted to enter a new PIN. Type a four- to eight-digit PIN of your choosing, then press "OK."

5. Reenter the PIN when you are prompted to confirm. Press "OK." If all codes were correctly entered, your phone will be unlocked.
