Check The Serial Number Of A Nokia

The serial number is in two different locations on a Nokia cellphone.

Each Nokia cellphone has a distinct serial number to identify the phone. You may need your serial number to verify that the phone is yours when you have your phone serviced. The serial number on some Nokia phones is accessible by entering a code into the phone. The code does not work on all models. All Nokia cellphones have a printed label in the battery compartment with the cellphone's serial number on it.

Instructions

1. Enter "*#06#" using the phone's keypad to display the serial number on the screen of some Nokia cellphone models. Continue to Step 2 if the serial number does not appear on your Nokia phone.

2. Turn off your cellphone. Some Nokia models have a dedicated power button on the top of the phone, while others require you to press and hold the "End" button until the phone shuts off.

3. Remove the back cover from your phone to access the battery compartment.

4. Pull the battery out of the battery compartment.

5. Read the label on the inside of the battery compartment. The serial number is a series of 11, 12 or 15 numbers or numbers and letters. It is printed under a barcode. The serial number may have "ESN:," "WLAN:," "IMEI:" or "MEID:" printed in front of it.
