Unlocking the Nokia 5030 cellphone is the procedure required to remove the SIM-block on a phone. A SIM-block is the means by which a service provider determines the frequency a customer's phone can receive, the frequency associated with their service. The problem is, if the customer changes service providers, the locked phone can not receive the frequency of the new service provider. Unfortunately, it requires a code that may take money to obtain. Instructions
Obtaining the Code
1. Type, "unlock Nokia 5030," in the search engine of your choice. Select a website that guarantees it can unlock your Nokia 5030.
2. Provide the website the make and model of the phone--Nokia 5030--and provide the IMEI number found inside your phone under the battery. It is a 15-digit code.
3. Provide your email and pay the website via credit or debit card. Wait for the company to email you the code. The waiting time can take several minutes or several days depending on the website you select.
Unlock the Phone
4. Remove the SIM card found inside the Nokia 9500 under the battery. Replace the battery and turn on the phone. Ignore the fact you do not recognize what appears on the screen.
5. Press the pound button - # - one time.
Press the star button - * - three times quickly and wait for a P to appear on the screen.
Press the star button four times quickly and wait for a W to appear.
Press the star button two times quickly and wait for the + symbol to appear.
6. Enter the code you purchased online.
7. Press the star button twice and wait for the + symbol to appear.
Press the pound sign.
Wait for the following text to appear on your phone's screen, "SIM Restriction Off."
You are now ready to place the new SIM in your phone. You will not have to follow this procedure the next time you change service providers or put a new SIM in your phone as there is no longer a SIM-lock on your phone!
