Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Headset Instructions

Bluetooth Headset

"Bluetooth" is a term used to describe a type of secure wireless network used mainly with cellular telephones. A Bluetooth connection is a way to securely connect a phone with a headset, enabling the user to make and receive calls without having to hold a phone to their ear. It is ideal in situations like driving where talking on a cell phone can be dangerous. Connecting a Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset to a Bluetooth compatible cell phone is a simple process that takes only a few minutes to complete.

Charging

Before you can use your Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Headset, you must first completely charge the headset's battery. Charging the headset for the first time takes in the neighborhood of eight hours to achieve a complete charge. This may seem like a long time, but every time after this initial charge it will only take around two hours to fully charge the headset. To charge your headset, simply place the product securely onto the charger that was included with the headset.

Pairing mode

To connect your Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset to a Bluetooth compatible cell phone, you must place the headset in "Pairing" mode. To do this, simply turn the Hheadset on by pressing the button on the side of the device. The first time you use a Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset, it is automatically placed in pairing mode. While in this mode the headset will emit a signal with a range of about three feet that Bluetooth compatible devices can identify. This signal is what the phone uses to locate and connect to the headset.

Cell phone

Next, place your Bluetooth compatible cell phone in "Discovery" mode. This mode allows the phone to search for any Bluetooth compatible devices in the immediate area and connect with them. In this case, it is going to find your Sony Ericsson headset. Go into your phone's main menu and under "Bluetooth Settings" select "Add a New Device." The phone will locate and identify your headset as long as both devices are within three feet of each other. When your headset appears on the list of found devices (after around thirty seconds to a minute), select it using your phone's "OK" or "ENTER" button. You will be prompted to enter a passcode to complete the connection. The default passcode on a Sony Ericsson headset is "0000." You can now use your headset in conjunction with your phone.
