Unlock A Prepaid Tmobile Nokia Phone

Even Pre-paid phones are locked to the network.

T-Mobile Wireless offers several different Pre-Paid options for its customers ranging from "Pay-As-You-Go," where you redeem coupons, to full blown monthly rate plans that offer unlimited calling and text. T-Mobile offers a full line of entry-level and intermediate Nokia phones that all work on their network. However, even though the phones are for pre-paid service, they are still locked to the T-Mobile network. If you want to use your Nokia phone on a different network, you can get it unlocked with a few simple steps.

Instructions

1. Remove the back cover and the battery of your Nokia phone. Write down the IMEI code printed on the phone's product label, located under the battery. Also write down the model number located on the product sticker.

2. Contact T-Mobile customer care at 800-937-8997 and ask to speak to customer care. Advise the representative that you need to file a SIM subsidy unlock request. This is the term T-Mobile uses to refer to a SIM unlock. Provide the representative with the IMEI and the model number for your Nokia. The representative will also request an E-Mail address so they can E-Mail you the request within 72 hours.

3. Enter #pw+ into the phone. After that, type the unlock code provided to you by T-Mobile. Then press +1# to unlock the phone. For example, the code will look like #pw+123456+1#.
