Access Deleted Text Messages

Your SIM card stores your phone's text messages.

Losing your text messages can be a frustrating experience, but if you have a SIM card, know that your messages are not lost forever. This memory card backs up your personal information, even if you cannot access it on your phone. A SIM card reader--available at most electronic retailers or wireless carriers--allows you to retrieve those deleted messages.

Instructions

1. Download and install the SIM card reader software. Save the software to a folder on your computer's hard drive. Allow your computer to restart.

2. Turn over your cell phone. Remove the protective cover. Take out the battery and SIM card; the SIM card is a microchip located in the corner. Lift it up with your fingernail to remove it.

3. Insert the SIM card into the SIM card reader USB. Insert the USB into an available port on your computer.

4. Wait for your computer to detect the device. Click the "New Hardware Device Found" message to install the components.

5. Double-click the software's icon. Wait for the software to read your SIM card and retrieve the messages. Click "Archive" to save the messages back on your phone.
