Link My Motorola H700 Bluetooth Headset With My Samsung Schu740 Cell Phone

The H700 in use with its boom extended.

The Samsung SCH-u740 is a flip phone with an unusual but effective design: It opens in two directions -- one intended for making and receiving calls and the other for using the QWERTY keyboard for typing. The phone has Bluetooth, and you can link, or "pair," it to devices such as computers and hands-free headsets. The Motorola H700 is one of many Bluetooth-compatible headsets, and if you have it and the Samsung SCH-u740, you can pair them in a few steps.

Instructions

Setup

1. Navigate to the Bluetooth options on your phone. From the home screen, you'll find these options by pressing the "Menu" button, selecting "Settings & Tools" and then selecting "Bluetooth Menu." You can reach the home screen by pressing the red "End" button.

2. Press the left soft key to turn on Bluetooth. The left soft key is to the top left of the navigation keys. After turning on the phone's Bluetooth, stay at the Bluetooth menu.

3. Close the headset's boom if it's open. The boom is the movable piece with the microphone in it; you pull it open to turn it on, and you push it closed to turn it off.

4. Press and hold the "Call" button for a few seconds until you see the headset's purple indicator light on and not blinking. The "Call" button is the oval-shaped button on the side of the headset.

5. Open the headset's boom.

Pairing

6. Select "Add New Device" on your phone's Bluetooth menu.

7. Wait a moment while your phone scans for Bluetooth devices.

8. Select "Motorola H700" from the list of devices when it displays.

9. Enter "0000" as the passkey when your phone prompts you for it.

10. Select "Yes" to your phone's confirmation of the Bluetooth pairing. The pairing process will complete in a moment.
