Unlock My Samsung Phone

Cell phone carriers lock their phones by using a subscriber identification module (SIM) card to recognize only their product. A unlocked phone can use any SIM and work with any carrier that uses a SIM card. Also, proprietary settings sometimes installed in locked cells do not always function correctly with other carriers even when the device is unlocked. Be aware that a phone that is unlocked improperly can cease to function.

Unlocking Procedure

Get to the SIM card by removing the battery cover on the back of the phone. Once the cover is removed, take the battery out and make your way to the SIM. Be careful removing the card and do not touch the metal contacts, because it may damage the SIM's functionality.

Turn Cell on With SIM Removed

Next you will need to type in a code. Once again, make sure your SIM is not in the phone when doing this. You can find your unlock code on hack sites. Choose the phone you have by filling out the form, which means just selecting the phone you have from a drop-down box. Once you have the code, you need to enter it exactly on your phone.

Restarting the Phone

The phone will automatically restart in approximately 15 seconds. Now you need to turn the phone off and insert a different carriers SIM card to see if it worked.
