Unlock A Kyrocera Cell Phone

Mobile phone features can benefit from being unlocked.

Kyocera phones usually come locked to the mobile network provider that supplied the phone, meaning that SIM cards from other networks cannot be used in the phone. The process of unlocking a Kyocera phone can be done fairly quickly, and it involves obtaining an unlock code to input into the phone and unlock it. The legal procedure of obtaining an unlock code can be done for free in some cases, or for a small fee.

Instructions

1. Obtain the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number for your phone. Dial "*#06#" to display the number on the phone display. Alternatively, you can find the 15-digit code on a decal concealed beneath the phone's battery.

2. Call your mobile network provider's customer service department to request a mobile unlock code. Many providers will do so if the phone is more than a year old, but this varies from company to company. Provide the phone details and IMEI number. If the provider agrees to give you the unlock code, then they will email it to you. If not, then source the unlock code online.

3. Navigate to an online unlock generator. Designate your Kyocera phone make and model. Specify the phone's IMEI number. Follow the on-screen directions. The company will email you a unique unlock code for your phone. This might require payment of a small fee, depending on the website.

4. Switch off your Kyocera phone, and remove the SIM. Replace the battery, and switch the phone back on. When prompted by the phone to insert a SIM card, key in the unlock code you were sent. The phone will show a "restriction lifted" message to confirm that the unlocking was successful.
