Your LG600G Tracphone can become locked if you forget your security code or password. Alternately, if you are trying to unlock your phone from your wireless phone service, you can purchase an unlock code or special software to unlock the phone from that network. By unlocking the phone from your current provider, you can then use different SIM cards in the same phone and can also increase the resale value of your phone.
Instructions
1. Unlock your Tracfone with your security code or password if the handset is locked. These codes protect your phone from unauthorized users making calls or seeing your information that is stored on the phone. If you have lost or forgotten either of those codes, try punching in "0000." This may unlock the phone so you can change the codes to something of your choosing. If this does not work, contact Tracfone customer service at 1-800-867-7183 to get a temporary code until you can reset the code.
2. Contact an online company that specializes in unlocking phones and purchase an unlock code to enter into your phone. These companies take your phone's model number and serial number to calculate a universal unlock code for your phone. This code will only work once and will only work for that particular phone.
3. Find an online company that sells cell phone unlocking cables and the LG600G Tracfone unlocking software to go with it. Download the software from the disk that is provided with your purchase and follow the prompts to unlock the phone. Connect the cable into your phone and the other end into you USB port of your computer when advised to.
