Master Reset A Sidekick Slide

Sidekick Slide

As with any electronic device, the T-Mobile Sidekick Slide will occasionally be in need of a master reset. Possibly some data on the phone has become corrupted, or perhaps you just want to clear everything off before you get rid of it. Learn set the Sidekick Slide back to its factory settings. Once you do this, all data such as ringtones, photos or text messages will be deleted. The user name will not be deleted from the phone.

Instructions

1. Remove the back cover, the battery and SIM card from the Sidekick Slide. Press and hold "R" on the keypad. While holding the "R" button, reinsert the battery. Do not insert the SIM card yet. The Sidekick will reboot itself twice. Do not let go of the "R" button until the phone has rebooted fully.

2. Once the Sidekick has fully rebooted, remove the battery. Re-insert the SIM card, the battery and power the phone back up. Once this is done, the phone will be back to factory settings.

3. After doing this, you will have to wait for up to 48 hours for the welcome screen to popup so you can re-register the phone. If you choose not to wait, hold down the "Menu" and "L" buttons at the same time. When you release them, you will be taken to the home screen. Unfortunately, you will have to do this every time you power on your phone.
