There are many reasons to change your current Tracfone phone number. Sometimes people choose to change a phone number after a move, because they are receiving solicitation calls. If you do decide to change your phone number, remember that you should notify all the people you normally talk to that your number has changed.
Instructions
1. Enter your Tracfone's prepaid menu. Locate the phone's serial number and write it down on a piece of paper. Write down your current phone number on the paper also.
2. Contact Tracfone's customer service. As of December 2010, the Tracfone customer service phone number is 1-800- 867-7183.
3. Listen to the automated menu when the customer service phone line answers your call. Go through the automated voice menu until your reach technical service assistance.
4. Request a new phone number from the Tracfone customer service representative. She will ask for your current phone number and the serial number from your Tracfone. Follow all the directions the customer service representative provides. She will then give you a new phone number.
