Optimum Voice is an online call management system.
Optimum Voice is a call management service available to Optimum online customers. It uses Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and provides a diverse range of features that allow you to optimize your calls online from your home computer. Optimum charges a flat monthly fee and offers unlimited local and long distance calls. There are 18 call features, including anonymous call blocking, busy and do not disturb options, call forwarding, private outbound calling and call waiting. The installation process is straightforward and takes less than an hour to complete.
Instructions
1. Plug the AC power adapter jack into the rear of the modem and the electrical plug into a wall socket.
2. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the rear of the modem and the other end into the Ethernet port on the back of the PC. Connect one end of the telephone cable to the TEL1 port on the rear of the modem and the other end to your phone.
3. Turn on your computer and insert the Optimum CD in the disc drive. The computer will run the CD and a welcome window will appear. Click on option C, "Optimum Voice Only."
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation of the Optimum Voice software. It checks your connections are set up properly, configures your system and activates your account.
5. Register your Optimum Voice account by following the prompts on the installer. You must register on the website optimum.com/MyOv, which allows you to create and manage settings for your calling features.
6. Configure your Optimum.net homepage by personalizing your settings. From here you can manage your email, news and voice mail features.
