Use Bluetooth With An Hpg71340us

With a Bluetooth dongle, you can sync to other devices.

This Hewlett Packard laptop has an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2.2 GHz and 320 GB of hard drive. With this laptop, you can watch videos, look at photos and connect wirelessly from anywhere. The best way to connect wirelessly is through Bluetooth. Bluetooth lets your laptop communicate with other devices within your area. Hewlett Packard does not recommend synchronizing your laptop with other computers because of varying operating systems. Instead, you can synchronize information with other personal digital assistants (PDAs), cell phones and handheld devices. Since this laptop is not Bluetooth-enabled, you need to purchase a dongle at your nearest electronics retailer.

Instructions

1. Attach the Bluetooth dongle to an available USB port on your laptop. Look for the message on your computer that says "Detected New Device" or "Add New Device." Click the message.

2. Click "Install." Follow the setup wizard for installing the Bluetooth dongle to your laptop.

3. Click "Add" and "Discovery Mode." This means that Bluetooth-enabled devices can recognize your laptop.

4. Press the "MENU" button on your phone. Navigate to "Bluetooth Connections" and select "Enable." Click "Add a Device." Search for your laptop by its model number. Click "OK" to confirm the connection.

5. Click "Start" and "Computer" on your laptop. Locate your phone's folder and double-click it. You can transfer file and data to and from your phone or computer.
