Open Gprs In Smart Phones

Smart phones use GPRS to connect to your mobile carrier and allow you to roam. GPRS is the wireless network that allows calls to be made and voice mail messages to be received, and it carries your voice over the airwaves. There are times when you may need to open (turn on) your GPRS if it becomes closed (or turned off). When your GPRS is open, you can select a network to connect to.


Instructions


Open GPRS


1. Press down on the "Menu" button from the home screen of the data device.


2. Click the "Settings" or "Tools" icon for phone configurations.


3. Scroll to and select "Phone Settings" or "Network Settings."


4. Click the options for "Airplane Mode" or "Wireless Mode" (based on your smart phone manufacturer).


5. Select the option for "On" or click the "On Checkbox" to open up your GPRS.

6. Press down on the "Menu" button from the home screen of the smart phone.


7. Click the icon for "Settings" and then select the option for "Call Settings."


8. Click or press on the icon for "Network Selection" to open the menu and then click on "Default Setup" to access the network configuration options.


9. Scroll to and select "Manual" to change the phone from automatically selecting a network.


10. Select the desired network and make sure that the phone connects. Test the phone by making a call with the new network.


Open GPRS for Voice Mail


11. Press down on the "Menu" button from the home screen of the smart phone.


12. Click the icon for "Settings" and then click the icon for "Messaging."


13. Scroll to and click the option for "Messages Settings."


14. Click the icon for "Voicemail."


15. Make sure that the option for "Voicemail" is set to "On" to receive voice mail messages..
