Use A Cell Phone As A Data Card

You can use your phone as a data card.


Today's smart phones can engage in many tasks common to desktop and laptop computers, including storing files. To use your cell phone as a data card, you merely need to synchronize data using Windows Mobile Device Center, which comes as part of the Windows operating system. You can store entire folders of data, along with email messages, contacts, tasks and other files.


Instructions


1. Insert a Micro SD storage card into your phone by removing the battery compartment and battery, and sliding the card into the slot. You can purchase a card from your local electronics store. Consult your phone's user manual to determine what size storage card is compatible with your device.


2. Connect your phone to the computer using its USB cable. Windows Mobile Device Center will open several seconds after your connect it the phone to your computer.


3. Click "Set up this device," and click on the data that you wish to transfer to the phone. Click "Next" and name your phone. Click "Setup" and wait for the selected data to transfer to your phone. Remove the USB cable connection when the application alerts you that the sync is finished.
