Configure Hp 2133

The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC is a mini laptop computer manufactured and developed by Hewlett Packard. If you want to install a new operating system or reinstall the current operating system, you have to know properly configure the device. If you want to configure the computer for faster performance, the steps below can also be of help.


Instructions


Configure the Boot Order in BIOS


1. Restart the computer. Press F10 to enter the BIOS settings. Ensure that you press the key during computer POST (Power On Self Test) or before the operating system is loaded by the computer.


2. Navigate to the "Boot" tab and set the optical drive as the first boot device or the number one in the "boot sequence." Set the hard drive and other drives in your computer as second, third or fourth boot devices. Note that you should include the hard drive in the list of boot devices.


3. Press "F10" to save the changes you made in BIOS. If no operating system is installed on the computer yet, your HP 2133 is now ready for operating system installation.


Configure the Computer for Faster Performance


4. Run the "Error Checking Utility" on your computer to repair disk errors and avoid greater computer damages. Click "Start" and "Computer." Right-click the driver you want to check and then select "Properties." Click "Tools" and then "Check Now." In the small dialog box that will appear, click the check boxes for "Scan for and attempt for recovery of bad sectors" and "Automatically fix file system errors." Click "Start" and wait for the process to finish.


5. Run the "Disk Cleanup" utility. Select "Start," "All Programs," "Accessories," "System Tools" and "Disk Cleanup." Wait for the system to calculate the amount of disk space you can free and then click the check boxes for the files that you want to delete. Click the "Clean up system files" button.


6. Defragment the hard drive. Navigate to "System Tools" and then choose "Disk Defragmenter." Select the drive that you want to delete and click "Defragment Disk."
