Lock A Mobile Phone

Keep the information in your phone private.

A lock can be placed on a phone to increase privacy protocols. This is an important attribute of a cellular phone, because if your locked phone is ever lost or stolen, the information it holds cannot be retrieved. To gain access to the security folder, a pass code is needed. The pass code cannot be retrieved by another individual without your personal information.

Instructions

1. Locate the security folder. Click "Menu" on your phone. Click "Settings." Scroll down the list and click "Phone." Scroll down the list and click "Security."

2. Enter the security code. If a previous code was not entered, the code will be "0000" or the last four digits of the phone number. Click "Done."

3. Change the lock code. Click "Edit lock code." The screen prompts you to choose a new code and confirm it. After confirmation, click "Done."

4. Lock the phone. Click "Phone Lock Setting." The phone gives you an option to lock the phone now or lock it when the phone is powered on. If you click "Lock phone now," the phone will automatically lock. If you click "On power up," the phone will lock after you shut it off and turn it back on. After you choose an option, your phone is locked.
