Replace The Speaker Phone For A Nokia E65

Released in 2007, the Nokia E65 provides a slider design, long battery life and a list of productivity apps. Fortunately for the do-it-yourself troubleshooter, the phone is also relatively easy to disassemble in case it needs a quick or minor repair. If the speaker phone on your E65 has ceased to function, follow these steps to replace it.

Instructions

1. Remove the battery cover, battery, SIM and memory cards. Set them aside and out of the way until later.

2. Turn the phone over so the screen is facing up and insert your small flat-edged tool along the connection between the front casing and the phone itself. Feel for the groove between the front and back portions on just the sliding part of the phone where the screen is located.

3. Loosen the front housing, bit by bit, until you have moved the flat edge along all four sides of the phone. Move slowly to avoid breaking the clips that attach the case to the phone. Remove the case and set it aside.

4. Locate the speaker, a black rectangle centered above the LCD screen. Remove it with your fingers and insert your replacement speaker.

5. Snap the case back onto the front slider portion of the phone to complete the repair. Reinsert the SIM and memory cards, battery and cover. Turn the phone on and make a test call to try out the new speaker.
