You can unlock a Net 10 Nokia with the correct codes.
Net 10 offers cell phone coverage at low rates without the need for a contract. However, Net 10 does have the ability to lock the cell phone you use. This does not allow you to buy minutes that you can use with another network provider. However, it also hinders you from cell phone usage when you go to a different nation for vacation or business and attempt to use your phone. If you know input the correct code, you can unlock a Net 10 Nokia with minimal effort.
Instructions
1. Enter *#06# on your phone. This enables you to see a unique code with 15 numbers called the IMEI number, or the serial number of your phone.
2. Locate a cell phone unlocking company such as GSM Liberty, Unlock to Talk or Unlock it Now (see Resources). Enter your IMEI number and the version of phone as "Nokia." You also need to enter "Net 10" as your network provider. Once you make your payment, expect to receive your code within 2 days via email.
3. Turn off your phone and take out the battery. Remove your SIM card and replace it with a card from the different network provider.
4. Put your battery back in your phone and turn it on. When you see the words "Enter Subsidy Code," enter your unlock code. Allow the cell phone to beep a few times and wait for the picture of Nokia to come up on your screen to complete the procedure.
