Set Up A Jawbone Bluetooth

Set Up a Jawbone Bluetooth

Setting up a new Bluetooth headset can be difficult and frustrating when doing it for the first time. When you purchased the Jawbone headset, setting up the headset may have you worried. The Jawbone headset not only looks good, but the set up process is straight forward. The Jawbones are designed to be fashionable and practical at the same time, so syncing your devices for the first time is a cinch.

Instructions

1. Enable your cell phone's Bluetooth. You can do this by going to a menu option. Typically, there is a "Bluetooth" option on the phone, and it will not be hidden behind many options. Also, keep the Jawbone headset close by the phone and turned off during this time. Right now you are attempting to pair the Jawbone with your phone so the phone and headset devices will recognize each other in the future. If you need help with your specific cell phone, consult your phone's manual since procedures may vary.

2. Press and hold the button on the back of the Jawbone (the "Noise Shield Button") while it's near the cell phone. This takes a few seconds, then the LED on the Jawbone will start to flash. The headset is now ready to be paired with your cell phone.

3. On your cell phone, in the Bluetooth options, set the phone to search for open Bluetooth devices. When the search is complete, the name of the Jawbone headset should appear on the cell phone.

4. Select the Jawbone on the cell phone and you will be prompted to enter a passkey. This allows the passing of information between the two devices. The default Jawbone passkey is "0000." When the pairing is complete and successful the Jawbone will beep and the LED will flash. Now the phone and Jawbone will automatically recognize each other every time the Jawbone is on and the phone's Bluetooth is enabled.
