Open Gprs In 6600

Nokia 6600 is a compact GSM phone that comes with a joystick for accessing menus and options. The phone supports Internet browsing via GPRS settings that are preset by your network carrier. However, if you ever switch your carrier, you will have to manually open GPRS on your phone and input the new settings, as directed by your new carrier. Opening GPRS on the cell phone is a simple task.

Instructions

1. Press the joystick to open the main menu.

2. Navigate to "Tools" > "Settings" > "Connection" > "Access points."

3. Press the "Options" key.

4. Select "New access point" from the options menu.

5. Select "Use default settings."

6. Fill in the parameters for different GPRS settings in the respective fields, such as Access point name (APN), Data berer, Username and Password. If you haven't got values for these fields already, contact your carrier by phone and ask for the GPRS settings.

7. Press the "Options" key again and select "Advanced Settings" from the options menu.

8. Fill in the parameters for the advanced settings, as given by your carrier. You have to enter values for phone IP address, primary name server, secondary name server, proxy server address and port number.

9. Revert back to the main menu. You can browse the Internet on your phone now.
