Unlock A Nokia Metro Pcs

To use the Nokia Metro PCS phone on other networks you need to unlock it.

To use a Nokia Metro PCS phone with another network, the Metro PCS must be unlocked. Unlocking the phone requires a code that identifies the phone, called an IMEI code, that Nokia must provide. To then use the Metro with another network provider requires that provider's SIM card and the removal of Nokia's.

Instructions

1. Obtain the Metro's identification number, or IMEI code, by contacting Nokia customer service. Depending on how Nokia determines the service contract for the Metro has or has not been met, Nokia may charge for the IMEI code. Either way, Nokia will send the code by mail within a few days.

2. Turn off the Nokia Metro PCS and remove Nokia's SIM card. The card is located in a slot near the battery at the back of the phone. Slide out Nokia's card and insert the SIM card of the new provider. Restart the phone.

3. Enter the IMEI code when prompted by the Metro. The Metro will ask for the IMEI code once the phone has detected the SIM card of the new provider. After entering the IMEI code the Metro will now work with the new provider.
