If you have an open-faced phone, make sure you lock the keypad before putting it in your pocket or purse.
Using a keylock is one way of guarding your phone against accidental dialing. Most of us have had it happen one or more times; we put our cell phone in our pocket and then pull it out later only to find that we have dialed the last called number over and over again. Locking the keypad will disable redialing, accidental answering or any other mishap from occurring. It is important to remember when locking your keypad, to take note of the unlock instructions.

1. Press the softkey on the left-hand side of the handset one time.
2. Press the softkey on the left-hand side of your handset and the round directional key at the same time. This is another way of unlocking the keypad.
3. Customize your auto lock features by clicking the menu button followed by the No. 9, which will take you to your Settings and Tools menu. Next, press the No. 4 key, which will take you to Keyguard Settings.

4. Remove the keyguard lock by pressing the "OK" button to unlock the phone.
5. Press "OK" a second time to display the "Menu" options.
6. Locate the "Unlock Options" to set the phone locks to stay on or off.

7. Press any key to illuminate your screen.
8. Press the unlock key, which is located on the right side of the phone.
9. Input the security code that you chose for your handset. If you've not personalize your security code, this will be the four-digit generic code given in your phone's manual.
