Transfer To An Itouch Through A Network

The official method to get documents and music installed on an iPod Touch, or iTouch, is to use Apple's iTunes software. There are also countless applications in the App Store that can transfer to an iTouch through a network. Most of these apps are not free. Dropbox is a free service with a companion app that will allow you to transfer documents and music to your iTouch. Dropbox stores your documents on its network, and you can access these files from anywhere, even from your iTouch.

Instructions

1. Sign up for a Dropbox account. The service is free for a minimal amount of storage.

2. Download and install the Dropbox software on your computer. Dropbox is available for both PCs and Macs. The software includes a self-contained installer program that guides you through the installation steps.

3. Install the Dropbox app on your iTouch. Connect to the iTunes Store on your iTouch, and download and install the free Dropbox app.

4. Add your Dropbox account on your iTouch. Use the same account that you set up with Dropbox for your computer.

5. Copy files to the Dropbox folder on your computer. The Dropbox folder is treated like any other file folder, and you can simply drag and drop documents into it. They do take a moment to synchronize over the network.

6. Open the Dropbox app on your iTouch. Once you have signed in, the contents of your computer's Dropbox folder should be available on your iTouch.
