Cricket is a prepaid service provider that offers a variety of CDMA (Code Division for Multiple Access) phones. If you own an Android-powered smartphone, you can have the device flashed to work on Cricket's wireless network. Flashing is the process of reprogramming the phone's settings and network to work with another carrier. To flash your phone, you will have to contact a professional cell phone flashing company to perform the service.
Instructions
1. Disconnect the phone service on your Android-powered phone if you have not done so already.
2. Contact a Cricket store in your area and ask the representative if they perform cell phone flashing services there. If not, they may be able to refer you to a nearby cell phone flashing company.
3. Schedule a time to meet with the professional. Pay for the services and provide the representative with your Droid mobile phone.
4. Wait for the representative to flash your device. The process takes approximately 35 minutes.
5. Validate that your phone has been flashed by trying to place a call. You should not be able to reach an outside network.
6. Take your phone into a Cricket store to have the device activated.
