Use A Power Mic With An Hr2600

Attach a power mic to your HR2600 ham radio.

The HR2600, a traditional ham radio, uses a receiver for sound input. Nowadays, receivers are far less common than traditional microphones. If you wish to use a microphone to give your radio sound, you must first add a converter that adjusts the size of the receiver jack.

Instructions

1. Place the HR2600 on a flat, level surface. Press the power button to turn the machine off, if needed.

2. Disconnect the receiver from the HR2600. Pull its cable from the radio and set it aside. This cable is located on the bottom-left side of the HR2600.

3. Push the 5-pin converter into the receiver jack.

4. Insert the cable of the power mic into the jack of the 5-pin converter.

5. Turn the HR2600 on by pressing the power button. Adjust the volume to a medium level. Turn down the gain by turning the gain knob counterclockwise. Because microphones are more powerful than receivers, you need a lower gain.
