Fring is a VoIP or Voice over IP service for mobile phones. This application allows users to talk and chat using a variety programs including AIM, Google Talk, ICQ, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, windows Live Messenger and SIP providers. Fring also allows for two-way video calls and file sharing. It only takes a few minutes to install Fring on your iPhone.
Instructions
1. Turn on your iPhone and locate the "App Store." This is indicated by a small blue icon with a pencil, paintbrush and box in white that form an "A." Touch the icon to open the store. Even though fring is free, you will need an Itunes account to download the Fring app. If you're using iTunes from your computer, simply click on the app store on the iTunes store main page.
2. Type" Fring" in the search box on the App store home page. Select "Search" at the bottom of the screen. In the iTunes store on the computer, it is in the upper right hand corner.
3. Select the Fring icon. This is a white Icon with a green box with two antennae and a smiling face. It should be the first in the search list and is listed as free. Clicking the icon will open a details page that tells you about the application.
4. Click on the "Free" button on the Fring details page or click the "Free App" button beneath the icon in the iTunes store. This button will turn green and say "install". Click on the button again to start the install. A prompt will appear asking for your password. Enter your password in the box and select "OK". The Fring icon will appear in your apps section on the phone. A status bar will be over the icon indicating the download and install process.
5. Hit the Fring icon after installation completes. This opens the Fring app. Select "New " or "Existing", to indicate what type of user you are, on the page that loads.
6. Enter the information requested on the next screen. New users need to create a user ID and add a nickname, password and email address. The email information allows fringe to notify you of updates. Click on the check box to agree to receive email updates. Existing user will need to input the user ID and Password.
7. Hit the green "GO" button at the bottom of the screen and you will be logged into Fring.
8. To reopen Fringe simply select the app Icon. You will be logged automatically after the first install.
