Sync Apple Ical & A Nokia E71

The Nokia E71 mobile phone is not included in the list of supported devices with iSync by default, but you can connect it to the Mac application with the use of the official Nokia plug-in. The iSync plug-in installs the necessary driver to your Macintosh computer, which allows the computer to connect with the Nokia E71 and synchronize your calendars and contacts. The initial synchronization of the device with iSync prompts you to merge information in iCal and the phone's calendar, or replace existing calendar information on the phone with iCal's data.

Instructions

1. Click the "Apple" menu icon on the desktop, and click "Software Update." Click "Update Now" to install available updates for your computer.

2. Visit the Nokia iSync site, and download the plug-in for the Nokia E71 to your desktop.

3. Click "Accept" to start the plug-in download, and double-click the E71 plug-in disk image on your desktop.

4. Double-click the pkg file to install the plug-in to the computer. Click "Applications" from the Go menu at the top of the desktop, and double-click "iSync."

5. Plug the E71's cable into the phone's charger port, and plug the other end into your Mac's USB port.

6. Click "Sync Devices" and double-click "Nokia E71" in the devices list. Click the "Calendars" checkbox, and click "Selected." Click the checkbox next to the name of the calendar you want to sync between iCal and the Nokia phone.

7. Click "Sync Devices" to start the synchronization process, and disconnect the cable from the phone and the computer after the sync finishes.
