Change An Hp Laserjet 4345 Transfer Roller

The transfer roller is an important part of your Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 4345 printer, and knowing change it can save you both time and money. Professional maintenance and service on the HP 4345 can be costly, so the more you can do on your own the more money you save. When you buy a maintenance kit for the HP 4345 the transfer roller will be part of that kit, and installing it is part of normal maintenance for this printer.


Instructions


1. Disconnect the printer from its power source. Open the top cover of the printer and remove the toner cartridge. Use the blue plastic hook that came with the maintenance kit to carefully lift the left side of the transfer roller.


2. Slide the transfer roller to the left. Remove it from the sleeve on the right-hand side and carefully lift it out of the printer. Set the old transfer roller aside and remove the new one from the maintenance kit.


3. Handle the new transfer roller only by the edges, and never touch the roller with your fingers. The oil on your fingers could damage the roller.


4. Insert the right end of the transfer roller into the sleeve on the right-hand side, then carefully insert the left end. Make sure the clip on the left side of the roller is facing down. Press down on the black plastic clip to set the roller in place. Reconnect the printer to its power source.
