Unlock A Blackberry On Claro Network

Unlock a Blackberry on Claro Network

Blackberries are often "locked" to a specific network, meaning they can only be used for the network through which the phone was purchased. For example, Nokia phones will only accept Nokia SIM cards and Verizon phones will only accept Verizon SIM cards. Unlocking a cell phone or Blackberry allows the device to be used with any SIM card from any network. This is especially helpful when switching from one provider to another, as it obviates the need to buy a new phone.

Instructions

1. Obtain Blackberry unlock code. Codes can be found via the Internet at Horizonwirelessonline.com or Unlock.berryreview.com.

2. Insert active or inactive SIM card into your Blackberry. Although all Blackberries are different, most SIM cards can be found in the back of the phone, underneath the battery. To locate it, open the battery door, remove the battery, and look for a thin piece of metal. With a Blackberry Pearl, lift up the metal flap and insert the SIM card. If you are using a Blackberry 8700, simply slide the SIM card into place. With either device, replace the battery and the battery door and power the Blackberry back on.

3. Go into "Settings" on your Blackberry phone. Then, select "Options"; Select "Advanced Options"; Select "SIM card."

4. Use the keyboard to type "MEPD" (without quotation marks). The text will not appear on the screen as you type.

5. Type "MEP" (again without quotation marks) and then [Alt] + 2. Your device is now unlocked.

6. Enter your eight or 16 digit unlock code into the message box and select "OK."
