What Is A Turbo Reflash

A turbo reflash is a relatively inexpensive aftermarket performance upgrade that can significantly increase engine performance in modern turbocharged cars without difficult installation. Turbo reflashes are seen as one of the easiest, cheapest and simplest ways to increase engine output power and torque.

Turbocharger Basics

Essentially, the turbocharger's job is to increase the air flow into the engine's combustion chamber and thus increase the engine's power and torque outputs. This is done by integrating the turbo into the exhaust pipes so exhaust gases can flow through one side of the turbine to spool up the turbocharger. On the other side, clean air runs from the air intake to the turbo where it is compressed and then run through an inter-cooler to cool down the air before reaching the intake plenum where it flows into the engine.

Turbo Reflash

A turbo reflash reprograms the engine management system to improve the engine's performance by remapping the engines air and fuel mixtures and turbo pressure. This improves the engine and turbo's performance by increasing efficiency.

Turbo Reflash Synonyms

Turbo reflashes are also commonly referred to as: ECU remaps, engine tune, performance chip and various other synonyms all of which refer to a turbo reflash so long as the car in question uses a turbocharger application.
