Bluetooth To A Cell

Bluetooth is a method of wireless connection for a headset to a cell phone. The term comes from the name of the technology that allows the two devices to communicate. Once connected, the Bluetooth will allow the user to carry on a cell phone conversation wirelessly and hands-free. However, the initial set up, which is also called "pairing" can be a bit tricky.

Instructions

1. Locate the Bluetooth menu in your phone. This can usually be found by entering the settings area of you main menu.

2. Put your Bluetooth into pairing mode. This will allow the headset to be located by the phone, and eventually connect to it. This usually involves holding down one or more button on your headset for several seconds until it emits a sound or a light starts to flash. However, this varies by headset and you may need to consult the manual.

3. Set your phone to search for your headset. Usually this involves pushing a button for "Add New Device" or "Search for Bluetooth device." Take note ,however, that if this takes you a while your headset may come out of its pairing mode. If so, repeat Step 2.

4. Select your Bluetooth device. After the phone searches, it will show you all the Bluetooth devices it has found. This will typically only find your headset, and will show the name, model or brand. Example: "Motorola 700D."

5. Enter your headset's pin into the phone. This pin number is often default at "0000." However, if this doesn't work, check your phone's manual.

6. Follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete your setup.
