Check Voicemail On A Phone

Voice mail service is available for both home and cell phones

There are times when you just cannot answer a phone call. A voice mail service allows an individual calling your phone to leave a message and his or her phone number so you can return the call at a later time. Depending on the type of home or mobile phone you own, the phone blinks or an icon appears on the screen of the phone when a new message arrives. Checking your voice mail using that phone turns the alert off.

Instructions

1. Turn the phone on.

2. Enter the 10-digit phone or voice mail account number on the phone, or go to the "Contacts" screen on the phone and press the "Voicemail" button.

3. Press "Send" or "Call." The voice mail account message begins playing. Skip this Step if the service was automatically accessed after pressing the "Voicemail" button in Step 2.

4. Enter in the numerical code for the account. Then, press "#."

5. Listen to the instructions given for checking, deleting and saving new or saved messages. The options vary per voice mail service. Press the necessary button to listen to new or saved messages (For example the "1" button on the phone). Then, press the number key to save or delete the message (For example "7" to delete the message, "9" to save the message).

6. Hang up or press "End" on the phone to exit the voice mail service.
