Unlock The Dt Nokia 2600

If you purchased your Nokia 2600 from your cellular carrier instead of directly from Nokia, the phone is likely locked to the carrier. To use the phone on a different cellular provider's network, you will need to unlock it. You can purchase the code from an online unlocking service, or you can request the unlock code from the carrier that originally sold you the phone.

Instructions

1. Obtain the SIM lock code for your Nokia 2600.

2. Turn off the Nokia 2600 and turn the phone over.

3. Press the battery door release button on the top edge of the phone.

4. Lift the battery door off and set it aside.

5. Lift the battery from the top edge and remove it from the phone. Set the battery aside.

6. Open the metal clip that covers the SIM card slot and remove the SIM card.

7. Close the clip and reinstall the battery and battery door.

8. Turn the phone on. The 2600 will display an error message. Ignore the message.

9. Type "#pw+" followed by the unlock code. After the code, type "+1#" if the phone was originally sold by AT&T. If the phone came from Fido or Rogers, type "7" instead of "1." If the phone accepts the code, the screen will display "SIM Restriction Off" and you are free to install a new SIM from a different carrier. If not, turn the phone off, then on, and re-enter the code.
