Install a Wireless Printer With an IP Address
Setting up a wireless network in your home or office can make your life a lot more convenient, especially if you have the ability to print wirelessly as well. When you set up wireless printers for your home network, you will be able to print from anywhere in your home or office, and that can help you get more done.
Instructions
1. Log on to your computer and click on the "Start" button. Choose "Control Panel" from the menu and double-click the "Printers and Faxes" icon.
2. Click on the "Add printer" button and choose "Local Printer" from the menu. Make sure the "Automatically detect" check box is not checked and click "Next."
3. Choose "Create a new port" at the next screen and choose "Standard TCP/IP port" from the drop-down list. Click "Next" to continue.
4. Enter the IP address of the wireless printer. Click "Next" to continue. Choose the option to print a test page to make sure the printer is set up correctly.
