Transfer Installed Apps To New Memory Card E71

The E71 has the capability of storing most of its data files on a memory card inserted into the memory card slot. This data can include audio files such as MP3s, photos and the apps installed on the device. You may reach a point where the memory card is getting full and you would like to transfer all of the data from your current memory card to one that is larger, with more storage space available.

Instructions

1. Create a folder on your computer to store the memory card files by right-clicking the desktop or another folder location and choosing "New" then "Folder." Name the folder "E71 Files" or a similar name.

2. Connect the E71's cable to the device and then connect it to a USB port on the computer. Microsoft ActiveSync software should launch. Allow it to complete the syncing process.

3. Click the "Explore" button at the top of the ActiveSync window. This will show all of the folders and files contained on the device and the memory card. Look for a folder named "Storage Card" or "SD Card" and double-click to open the folder and view the files within.

4. Click "Edit" in the toolbar at the top of the window, then click "Select All." This will highlight all files in the window. Click "Edit" and then "Copy."

5. Open the folder you created on the desktop or other location in the first step by double-clicking it. Click "Edit" and choose "Paste" to paste the files from the memory card. Click "Edit" then "Select All" in this window, then click "Edit" and "Copy." This will copy all files from this folder on your hard drive.

6. Disconnect the USB cable, remove the old memory card and insert the new card. Reconnect the USB cable.

7. Click the "Explore" button in the ActiveSync window and double-click the storage card folder once again. Click "Edit" and choose "Paste." This will paste all of the files from the folder on your hard drive to the new memory card.
