Activate Gprs On A Nokia 6300

GPRS is a mobile data transfer system that allows multiple users to use the same streaming channel through their cell phone by opening it only for the time that it is in use by each user, instead of having continuous access to a network.

The system comprises a series of functions that provide data streaming and transfer between GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) cell phones. GPRS can send data at a speed of 115 kilobits per second, depending on network availability.

Instructions

1. Switch on your Nokia 6300 cell phone and go to the menu screen. Click on the "Settings" tab and choose "Configuration" from the next menu.

2. Select "Personal Configuration Settings" and press "Options" from this menu.

3. Click the tab to "Create a New Access Point" and type in your account name, if prompted.

4. Select "Access Point Settings" and change the data bearer to "GPRS".

5. Select "Data Bearer Settings," enter "GPRS Access Point" and set the authentication type to "Normal." You may be asked for your user name and password at this point, if you have security features enabled.

6. Return to the "Options" menu and click "Activate."

7. Click back through the menu screen to your newly created access point and select it as your "Preferred Access Point."
