Know You'Re Obsessed With "Naruto"

Dressing as a ninja is one sign you may be obsessed with "Naruto."


Fans of the anime and manga series "Naruto" watch and read about Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja in a fantasized Asian country, who hopes one day to lead his village. Obsession with the "Naruto" series gives you bragging rights as a fan. At the same time, depending on how you look at it, obsession could be a sign to back off a bit and participate in other activities. Either way, watch out for a few key signs of obsession with "Naruto."

1. Calculate how often you watch "Naruto." There are hundreds of episodes of the "Naruto" anime and scores of volumes of the "Naruto" manga. Fans of the series can watch all of the "Naruto" anime and read all of the manga and not necessarily qualify as "obsessed." However, watch episodes or read volumes multiple times and you spend a lot of your time immersed in "Naruto."


2. Look at your costume pictures. A fan who is obsessed with "Naruto" cosplays -- an anime fan term for "dresses in costume" -- as "Naruto" characters for Halloween, for anime conventions, for anime fan meetups and special events. One or two "Naruto" costumes do not qualify as an obsession. More than two "Naruto" costumes mean that you are obsessed.


3. Analyze your hobbies. A "Naruto" fan who is obsessed with the series devotes most of her time to "Naruto"-related hobbies. For example, you may play the "Naruto" collectible card game and practice for card game tournaments. You may also play "Naruto" video games more often than other video games.
