Transfer Sms Messages On An S60

Save your SMS messages while simultaneously cleaning up your phone's internal memory.

SMS messages, commonly referred to as text messages, are usually stored on your phone's internal memory by default. After adding up over time, these messages can slow down your Nokia S60, causing apps, pictures or music to upload more slowly. The easiest solution is to delete the text messages. If, however, you want to save your messages, you can transfer them to an external memory card, thereby increasing your phone's internal memory, while at the same time, saving your messages.

Instructions

1. Download and install the FExplorer app (see link in "Resources") onto your Nokia S60 if you don't already have it.

2. Turn on your phone and navigate to "Menu > Messages > Settings > Other > Memory > Phone Memory" to make sure your phone is set to save your messages to its internal memory.

3. Open the FExplorer app and navigate to E:\System\Mail and delete the entire directory.

4. Go back to your home screen and select "Menu > Messages > Settings > Other > Memory," then select "MMC."

5. Follow the prompts to finish transferring your messages to your external microSD memory card.
