Inserting a Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. SIM card into your Nokia phone enables you to send and receive calls. BSNL also allows you to browse its catalog of ring tones, wallpapers, music and videos for free using the General Packet Radio Service settings, and can send automatic settings to your Nokia phone. Once you activate the settings, you can browse the catalog through the Nokia's browser feature.
Instructions
1. Open the text messaging icon on your Nokia device.
2. Select the option to compose a new text message.
3. Enter "GPRSPRE" in the body of the message for prepaid accounts. For postpaid accounts, enter "GPRSRF" for rent-free accounts, "GPRS49" for 49 accounts or "GPRS199" for 199 accounts.
4. Send the message to "53733" to activate GPRS on your account.
5. Compose a new text message.
6. Enter your phone's make and model number. For example, if you have a Nokia 7710, enter "Nokia 7710" in the body of the message.
7. Send the message to "58355." After a few minutes, you'll receive several configuration messages. When you open the messages, the phone will prompt you to activate the settings.
8. Turn the phone off and back on once the settings are activated.
