The Symbian operating system is provided by Nokia.


Symbian is a mobile operating system provided by Nokia. The company provides the system to various manufacturers, for both smartphones and other mobile devices. Symbian was purchased by Nokia in 2008 and the company created the non-profit organization known as Symbian Foundation. The foundation offers royalty-free software and applications to customers.

It also offers the ability to personalize your phone with applications using PlayNow, which is provided through Symbian. The phone features HD video recording and customizable home screen icons for quick access to the user's favorite applications.

The Nokia N8, which uses the Symbian^3 operating system, offers a 12 megapixel camera and free worldwide navigation. You can add live updates from RenRen, Facebook and Twitter to your home screen. Applications can be added through Ovi Store for Nokia phones.
