Soft Reset A Verizon Xv6700

Occasionally, the programs installed on cell phones and PDAs can slow down or run incorrectly. If your Verizon XV6700 is running slowly or one of its programs is not running properly, you may need to perform a soft reset. A soft reset turns off your phone, allowing the active memory to clear and forcing running programs to be shut down. Also, a soft reset might be necessary after certain programs have been installed.

Instructions

1. Save data, if possible. A soft reset will cause any unsaved data to be lost (see References).

2. Hold the phone so that it is screen-side down with the antenna facing you.

3. Press and release the power button to turn off the phone. It is the round button with the circle and line symbol on the left half of the side facing you (see References).

4. Hold the phone so that it is screen-side down with the antenna pointing away from you.

5. Locate the reset button on the side of the phone that is facing you. It is the small, recessed button on the far right, next to the rectangular sync/charging connector (see References).

6. Press the reset button lightly with the stylus and hold it (see References).

7. Release the button after approximately two seconds. The device should restart. The "Today" screen will then be displayed (see References).
