Transfer Contacts With Bluetooth

Do you plan on receiving a new cell phone soon, but you dread the infamous manual entry of contact information that comes with phones without SIM cards? You could transfer contacts for free with Bluetooth in a few steps.

Instructions

1. Pair your computer and cell phone. Go to the Bluetooth menu on your phone and select "Add New Device" to make the devices discoverable. Follow each device's instructions to do so.

2. Go to your phone's contacts list. On a Verizon phone, select "Options" and "Send Name Card." Other providers' phones should have similar options. Click "Via Bluetooth." You can then select multiple name cards to send to the PC. These name cards are contact information stored in a format that electronic devices -- like your computer and cell phone -- can understand.

3. Click "Send." The transfer of contacts will begin. You will likely have to accept the transfer on the PC. Store the name cards in an easy-to-remember folder.
