Change Your Local Ip

Changing your local IP address does not require advanced technical skills or knowledge.

Anytime you browse online or enter information, websites save and track the input based on your IP address, which may lead to location information as well as personal details (if using unsafe websites). Changing your computer's local IP address will refresh your identity online, giving you a new IP each time you visit a website, rather than storing all of your Internet activity from one IP address.

Instructions "Control Panel" > "Network and Internet" > "Network and Sharing Center" > "Manage Network Connections" from your computer's desktop to finalize changing your IP address.

8. Locate the "Local Area Connection" and right-click using your computer's mouse. Select "Disable" to completely disable your local Internet connection with your current modem and router.

9. Wait 30 seconds before right-clicking on "Local Area Connection" and selecting "Enable" to re-enable the network connection. You will then have a new local IP address.
