Reflash A Cell Phone

Remove problems from your phone by reflashing it.

Sometimes cell phones become susceptible to software bugs, technical problems and viruses. These problems could cause your cell phone to slow down or to malfunction. As these problems increase, you may not be able to use your cell phone. To prevent the problems from getting bigger, you should reflash your cell phone. Reflashing removes all of your cell phone's data, including any viruses or problems. You can do it safely without any help from your cell phone provider.

Instructions

1. Turn off your cell phone. Wait 30 seconds before proceeding.

2. Turn on your cell phone. Allow your phone to boot up fully. This usually takes 60 seconds or less.

3. Click the "OK-Menu" button. Navigate to "Settings" and "Initial Setup." Select "Master Clear." A master clear wipes out all of the information from your device. A fresh copy will then install onto your phone after the master clear is complete.

4. Wait for your phone to reboot itself. You can safely use your cell phone once it is back on.
